My Italy Experience: Day 5 - Nove

Day 5 - 11/05/13  Nove

Day of relaxing with grandkids. In the afternoon we drove to the

small town of Nove located near Marostica.

The town is located on the Brenta river and the name is Italian

for new.

The lowering of the Brenta river produced the new land rich

with clay.

The ancient artisans used the clay to create beautiful pottery.

The town is filled with ceramic shops which manufacture the

ceramics sold by such famous companies as Williams Sonoma,

Crate and Barrel, and Tiffany's.

Here is a link to one shop we visited:

Another shop we stopped in was called Ceramiche Larry S.K.G.

Interesting name. Named after the owner's children

Larry, Susy, Ketty, and Genny who now run the company.

Beautiful ceramics.

Great day. Great town. Ready to call it an early night!
