Saturday morning like every morning in Cavazzale and most Italian towns, we awoke to the sounds of church bells.
Later we walked approximately two blocks to the weekly market in town and our grandson, Trent's school fundraiser. Many vendors come each week and sell, vegetables, meats, cheeses, leather goods, clothing, fresh flowers, household goods, and even shoes. It was fun to watch these vendors set up their vans and in minutes become a functioning booth.
We had hot wine with apples and oranges soaked in it. Not sure it's something I would drink again, but it was fun to try on a wet cold morning.
It was a fun family stroll. Later we walked through town and to the church where the bells ring every day. Returned home and prepared for dinner while the kids took a nap. Later we took an evening stroll only the town parallel to the train tracks. Trent rode his bike. We returned home to Sheperd's pie for dinner with Pecan pie for dessert. All
very good.
Last night to bathe and read to the kids. Will miss them so much. I imagine they'll be so different when I see them again. It makes me sad to know that may be a year or more.
