Time, Time, Time

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted.
Yet, there's been so much that's happened, it's easy to see how time has slipped away.

Brief catch-up:
My Dad indeed passed away at the end of April. God blessed me with two weeks to spend by his bedside before he went on to be with our Savior.

Two weeks later, we moved into our new house. Pics to come later.

Two weeks later, my daughter graduated from high-school and we hosted 8 family members for several days. Lots of fun and it was great for my Mom to travel to a new part of the country.

In the midst of the above, I started a full-time job working for a local Oil company. Helps to offset the costs of the house and a daughter starting college in a few weeks!!!!

I continue to receive rejections on my first manuscript. But they are getting more personal and provide some encouraging feedback. Who would have thought that a rejection could be encouraging?

I'm currently working on a Certification as a Health Specialist in Ergonomics and hoping to write a book for writers...all those hours at the keyboard.

Life sure has a way of keeping us on our toes and sometimes in a tailspin. I've come to understand--that's normal. How we react to those tumultuous moments can mean the difference between chaos and trust.

I've had many moments in the last few months to examine my reaction to life events and quite frankly, sometimes chaos edged closer than I preferred. But in the end, peace and trust reigned. Why? Because I handed those moments to the Lord. He does a much better job than I.

Hello dear one:

Your entry goes right along with a devotional I wrote the other day. The series of events that happened to me recently made me evaluate how I react to LIFE, too. Just say, I needed to turn mine over to the Lord a little sooner than I did. Would have saved me a few tears.

Love ya,
nettie

I'm sorry to hear about your father's death. It is so hard when we miss those we love. My father-in-law had triple by-pass heart surgery and lung cancer surgery at the same time last October. We just found out this week he might have an aneurysm in his heart. So much seems to be happening.

Marian,

I am so sorry about your father's passing. Sounds like you've been through much this summer. Marian, please don't get too discouraged about the rejections. Remember talking about God's timing...I know your book will be published and will minister to many.
I heard a story about a seaman who said that that in a fierce storm the only thing he could do was put the ship in a certain position and keep her there. That this concept is so in our walk with God...Lash yourself to the helm, and hold fast to your confidence in God's faithfulness in all you are going through.

Love, Kathy

Thank you all sweet friends for your encouraging words. It's so comforting to know there are dear friends who care and are praying. God has blessed me generously!

Dear Sweet Friend,

Reading your words, again, brings peace to my soul. Knowing I need to do something and then having it reinforced by a Christian Friend is wonderful. But that is our Lord. He knows the words we need to hear. Thank you so much.

I was struck also that those who read your work, the very ones who think it isn't for them at this time, will be touched by it. God will plant seeds and those seeds will bring forth fruit for His harvest.

May God bless and keep you in his enbrace, sweet Friend.

Love, Mary
